How we make decisions
Trust Board meetings
Our trust board meets every two months. The public may attend these meetings, and agendas and papers are available to download in advance. Minutes of meetings are also published on our website; see the trust board pages for more information.
Patient and public involvement
We are fully commited to patient and public involvement. Our action plan for patient and public involvement describes some of the progress that we have made in this area and sets out our plan to build on this work over the next four years.
More information can be found on our section about how we involve our community.
Equality and Inclusion
In line with equalities legislation, we assess our policies and functions for their relevance to promoting and delivering equality across the protected characteristic groups – age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.
Equality analysis reports are carried out using a standard form:
Visit our equality and inclusion pages to view a list of our recent equality analysis reports.
Equality annual Reports
The Equality Act 2010 requires all public bodies and NHS Trusts to assess their performance on equality and inclusion across the protected characteristic groups (age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation) and show how they are improving the experiences of staff, patients and service users and other stakeholders,
Each year we publish our annual equality report, which details the progress it has made over the last year on equality and inclusion issues in regard to its staff, patients and service users and other stakeholders, across all the key functions of the Service.
Public consultations
Our plans to become a foundation trust
Our public consultation on our plans to become a foundation trust ran from 9 February to 15 May 2009.
We spoke with over 1800 members of the public during the consultation period, encouraged all of our staff to give us feedback and shared our plans with over 2000 partner organisations.
We received 350 formal responses to the proposals set out in our consultation document, and the feedback was broadly positive.
Our full response to the consultation findings
Full details of the consultation findings can be found in our evaluation document.
