Khush and Fatin: Prepped and ready for the Ambulance Series

Behind every episode of the BBC Ambulance series is all the hard work and dedication of team LAS ensuring everything runs smoothly. Khush and Fatin, part of our Make Ready staff, are pivotal to this process. Their work begins long before the cameras started rolling, ensuring that the Ford vehicles used in the filming are fully equipped and operational.

Preparing these vehicles is no small task. Khush and Fatin were tasked with prepping the vehicles from scratch, often at the last minute, to meet the tight filming deadlines. “We only had a couple of days to get them ready,” said Khush. “It involved a special delivery of equipment, and we had to make sure all the processes were followed correctly. Each kit had to be tagged accurately, and each vehicle needed around 12 bags as well as other items.”

Every pouch was brand new, requiring asset tags, numbers, and labels to be assigned. Challenges were inevitable, especially when some deliveries were missing supplies needed to fully fit the ambulances. This required a coordinated effort to source pouches and equipment from across the LAS. “It was a real team effort,” noted Fatin. “We had to make sure everything was ready by the deadline, and we did it.”

The Make Ready team plays a vital role beyond just prepping vehicles for filming. They ensure that equipment is set up correctly, supplies are replenished, and all packs and equipment are scanned and documented. Their work is integral to the seamless operation of the LAS and also the success of the Ambulance series.

We’re just one week away from the first episode of BBC Ambulance on 17th October!
