Chief Executive pays tribute to Carol Andrews

Carol Andrews, Watch Manager – Emergency Operations Centre, Waterloo

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our colleague Carol Andrews on Saturday 31 August 2024.

Carol was a valued member of the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) for over 35 years. She was extremely proud of her role in EOC.

Carol will be remembered as a woman who was always in the right place at the wrong time for most people, catching you doing things you weren’t supposed to. She ran a tight ship and made sure everyone understood how she wanted it to be. Let’s not forget that stern look which could stop you in your tracks. But beneath it all was a woman who cared and had a big heart and if you ever needed her, she was there to support you.

Carol leaves behind her daughter Kirsty and her grand-daughter Ayanna-Rose and her three brothers.

Our thoughts are with Carol’s family, colleagues and friends during this sad time.
